3% Unemployment: Rep-Elect Colton Moore Floats First Chick-fil-A in Dade County
TRENTON, Ga. and LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. and ATLANTA, September 23, 2018 (COLTONMOORE.COM)
Representative-Elect Colton Moore will be sworn in on January 19th, 2019 but that is not stopping him from moving District 1 forward as other candidates are still focused on winning their elections. One critical metric Moore is focused on is the unemployment rate throughout the District.
“Both Dade and Walker have roughly a 4% unemployment rate. With a booming Trump economy, we will have the opportunity to decrease this by over 25% over the next two years. This would make for our lowest unemployment rate in the last three decades and the lowest of nearly all districts throughout Georgia. By working with our District’s largest employers and paving a way for new ones, we can continue moving our business and family bank accounts in a very positive direction,” Moore commented.
One Georgia business Moore wants to pave a road for is Chick-fil-A. Georgia produces more broiler chicken, for restaurants like
“Georgia is home to one of the largest poultry restaurants in the country, yet the closest Chick-fil-A is 35 minutes away. Interstate 24 at Exit 169 has 70,000 cars pass it every day. Exit 11 off Interstate 59, in Downtown Trenton, has more than 17,000 cars passing it per day, according to Georgia DOT Data. Both of these locations would be great for a Chick-fil-A, their food, and what they represent. The Exit 169 location could make a great home to the very first Chick-fil-A truckstop,” Moore added.

“A great Chick-fil-A, like the one managed by Mr. Terry O'Neal in Fort Oglethorpe, employs over 100 people and generates $3.5 million each year. Bringing multiple Chick-fil-A locations to our communities would add over $70 million in economic impact to our area over the next decade and bring us much closer to our goal of adding 450 new jobs by 2020.”
“These locations would also help develop Georgia’s northwestern interstate corridor and support the families that call the area home. This would be a win for everyone involved and I expressed this in this letter to Mr. Dan Cathy, the CEO of Chick-fil-A.”
New and current businesses are a top priority for Moore. The stronger our workforce is, the better off our families and other businesses will be. With the right strategies and our goal of 3% unemployment, Moore believes we can make Walker and Dade two of the most employed counties in the entire State of Georgia.
